What is Energy Medicine?

Energy Medicine is any practice that works with energy as a vital, living, moving force that is at the foundation of our well-being. In Energy Medicine, the body is healed by activating its own natural healing energies and by restoring energies that have become weakened or out of balance. Energy Medicine is both the patient and the healer, in that the practitioner not only addresses and works on the different aspects of the body’s energy systems, but also uses these energies as part of the healing process. 

What is Eden Energy Medicine?

I have spent three years training in the system of Eden Energy Medicine, also now known as the Eden Method, one of the most comprehensive courses and healing modalities of its kind, devised by and based upon the inspiring work of Donna Eden, freely acknowledged as one of the leading lights of healing in the world today. Donna has been gifted wth the ability to see energies from birth, and healed herself from Multiple Sclerosis using such techniques. With the help of her husband, David Feinstein, they have together developed an empirical and standardised set of tools and protocols which consistently yield up effective results, and which do not depend upon the practitioner being able to 'see' energies. 

Eden Energy Medicine teaches that there are nine energy systems, including some of the more commonly known - the meridians, the chakras and the aura. Each of these systems interacts and co-operates to form the overall system we know as the human body. Our physical health and wellbeing is actually a reflection and measure of the harmony and good flow existing in our energy systems. Disease appears in the energy system before it manifests in the physical body. If the imbalance can be rectified, there is no longer a basis for the physical disease, and it simply fades away. 

Energy wants to move and to flow in certain set patterns. When this flow and harmony are inhibited in any of the nine energy systems, such conditions as excess or deficiency, stagnation or congestion of energies can occur, which left unchecked can lead to more chronic conditions.

What happens during a treatment?

The practitioner does not specifically treat disease as such, but tracks the patients' energies through each of the systems, using energy testing - using a testable muscle such as an arm -to enable the body's own unconscious or inner wisdom to yield up answers about the state of the body's energies. The practitioner can then begin to effect change in the energy systems to restore balance, flow and harmony, with a consequent restoration of physical and emotional wellbeing. 

The client remains fully clothed, often on a treatment couch, and commonly finds the treatment process calming and therapeutic in itself. The practitioner may work on the client's body itself, or in the client's energy field, and will use their own hands, and sometimes a crystal or small magnet. The hands are themselves electromagnetic, and can influence the state of a client's own energies if used in particular ways. In this way, the client's own electromagnetic field is re-patterned and balanced.

The aims of a treatment are always to bring balance and harmony, but in order for this to be sustained, the practitioner may give 'homework' in between sessions, in the form of specific beneficial exercises, routines and self-treatments, in order to help encourage long-standing chronic imbalances to come right again, to effectively re-pattern what the body's underlying energies have become used to doing.
